European Masters Track and Field Champs 2017

The European Masters Championships (Track and Field) were held in Aarhus, Denmark from the 27th July to the 6th August 2017. Weather conditions were changeable with rain, strong winds mixed with glorious sunshine on most days.

Ros Tabor was undeterred as she strode home to Gold in the W65 4K cross country, and went on to win silver in the 1500m, (5:51.12). She put her sprinting skills on display as she came 4th in the 400m, (75.98).

Barry Ferguson was pleased to record season's bests in the M75 100m heat (16.32 secs), 300m hurdles 4th in (59.55 secs) and the 80m hurdles (15.96 secs) in which he won Gold.

Warwick Dixon threw seasons bests in the M80 3K Hammer (37.59m) and 1K Discus (29.98). He was a little frustrated by his performances as he was edged into 4th place in both events.

Pat Oakes is a former Cambridge Harrier who is now second claim. She got back into running fitness to win bronze in the W70 80m hurdles (20.14 secs). She was also 4th in the Triple Jump and 9th in the Long Jump.
