This week in history...
A new feature where we look at club news from years gone by.
Holden Leads the way in Kent Championships
1950 - "IN the Kent Championships at Gravesend, the juniors did well to win by 18 points to Blackheath's 34. This win was expected as their performance to date has been very good.
Many thought that Dennis Holden could win the individual championship, but he was beaten by the experienced runner, namely P Blackiston, Kent Junior Mile champion and record holder.
The scroing four were D Holden 1, D Hoile 2, C Fromings 6 and C Levett 9."
A happy new year to you all. We start the new year with a look at last weeks Club 7.5 mile cross country championship.
Cambridge Harriers 7.5m Cross Country
There was an excellent turnout with runners from both Dartford clubs, Swanley, Plumstead and Invicta together with a big contingent from Bexley. It was probably the largest field that we have had in recent history, so thank you to everybody who took part.
Dean Lacy won for the fourth consecutive year but had some real competition from Andy Pickett and Mark Wilkins, especially as he had to make an unplanned stop for a call of nature! Full results here.
