Sutcliffe Park athletics track is the main athletics track used by Cambridge Harriers and managed by GLL Ltd. The club host many league matches during the summer and regularly host events for the British Milers Club (BMC).

 

The track has been open since 1954, originally as an all weather cinder athletics track, and was upgraded in 1989 to be fully synthetic.

The track has a newly built pavillion incorporating a studio, male and female indoor changing facilities and shower areas, a reception area and space for parents to watch their children train.

 

Coaching is available to all ages from 11 upwards and is open to people of all abilities. Main training days are Tuesday and Thursday from 6PM onwards. The adult price per session is £3.30 (£2.20 for holders of a Greenwich Card). Click here to view details of our coaches.

Location & getting there

 

Sutcliffe Park is based in Eltham, south east London, just off of the A205 South Circular road.

 

There is limited on-road parking outside of the track.

 

The nearest train stations are Kidbrooke (1/2 mile away) and Eltham (1 mile).

The clubhouse is the administrative headquarters and meeting place for Cambridge Harriers.

 

Road, cross country and fell runners meet here to go on road and local woodland runs.

 

The clubhouse has male and female changing facilities and showers, a function hall and an unstocked bar area.

 

The venue is the meeting place and post race rendevu for the three Club Cross Country Championship races as well as the Christmas Handicap. The club also hold regular functions here including a summer barbque, Chrstmas Meal and disco.

 

Everybody is welcome to join the training sessions that are held from this venue, meeting from 7PM on Wednesday's and Fridays and for those hardy enough, 8AM on a Sunday morning.

 

During the summer, Friday runs are held in the Kent village of Shoreham, and Wednesday runs usually take in Joydens Woods. Both runs are usually between 6-12 miles long.

 

In the Winter, Wednesday runs are on several local routes through the streets (see routes) and Fridays involve either hill training or a gentle 6 mile run.

 

Sunday morning runs usually take place through local parks for an hour and a half.

The clubhouse is based ten minutes walk by the centre of Bexley Village.

 

There is private car parking spaces at the clubhouse for around 30 cars .
